** I've come to grips with the fact that this site will only get update once in a while **

GO SGU!

Thanks to the wonderful participation of our class we were able to bring home to trophy for GAME NIGHT 2006. It was a good time of food and fellowship.

Our class will start a new book study this week, we will be reading "BREAKING THE DA VINCI CODE." Tentative meeting dates are Thursday nights but will probably change due to Emanuel's tennis practices, so check back here for updates on meeting times.

I'd like to start a new tradition on this xanga, "SGU AWARDS" these will simply be random categories for doing stupid, funny, crazy, smart, lame, hilarious stuff.

Here are the first 3

1. MVP of Game Night 2006:     Emily Alexander

With a point total of over 20,000 she helped us secure victory.

2. Worst Driver:     Andy Stewert

Put his car into a snow bank with hilarious results, thankfully he was ok.

3. Most technologically inclined: John Milliman

With his million random and borin....intriguing facts on technology, John you win.

Well that's it, check back here for more updates

Any able-bodied person needs to show up this saturday (that's TOMORROW!) at 9:30 a.m. at the church to help the Southgate University class beat the Phoenix (singles and married) class in flag football!  It is guaranteed to be a good time.  We played 2 weeks ago and lost by 1 touchdown (63-56) and we demanded a rematch.  So we got it!  This is our day to shine.  We need everyone possible to show up so we can show up the Phoenix class and give those old married men the whooping they deserve.

Greetings and Salutations from S.G.U.

I've been kicking around some logo ideas for our class, using the letters: SGU
(It's easier than SU)

Anyway, our once fearless leader Chris Abner has returned for a couple of weeks, so we've had a few guest lectures, but mostly Emanual Dolph has been teaching on REVELATION. Also our Wednesday night bible study is in full swing but it's not too late to join, please contact Emanual or just show up on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm.

For those who do not know here is our class schedule:

SUNDAY:

                   9:15 am     -    Sunday School
                 10:30 am     -    Corporate Worship

6:00 pm     -    Sunday night devotional

WEDNESDAY:

7:00 pm     -    Group book study

Anyways keep your ears open for upcoming events.

"May the lord bless you and keep you, and cause his face to shine upon you."

AH MAN

I've failed to update this thing regularly....

Anyways, we had a great fall retreat this past weekend. Just chillin in southern Ohio, in a cabin, cutting down trees, making fire, shooting guns, and hiking. Two words...Kevin Bacon...

Anyways come on down this Sunday to Southgate Baptist Church at 9:15 for some good ole sunday school learning.

If you would like to see pictures of the fall retreat go to:

Thank you

What's up everyone:

This wednesday Emanuel Dolph will be leading the class in a book study, we are currently studying a book written by Alistar Begg, a preacher from Scotland, the title escapes me but come on over at 7:00 at Southgate Baptist Church.

This sunday the class will be team taught by Caleb Mounts, Ryan Churchward, Loren Kuhn, and Josh Storts. We will be studying Revelation, specifically the letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor.

And Chris if your reading this, we all miss you and can't wait to see you again, sunday nights just aren't the same...
